As a rule, GenXers and those that are even younger have little or no patience. The ones that have access to money will purchase good characters or good equipment for their characters. I grossed $22,000 in 2002 playing a similar game to World of Warcraft, and had a lot of fun doing it. I typically played Sunday afternoons and a couple nights per week. I like the idea of going to bars and meeting girls but my wife frowns on it. Also, it's hard to make $22k/year in your spare time at the bar unless you're a great pool shot. Its been going on since at least the early 90s. There was even an article in the New York Times 5 or 6 years ago about one individual that made some $150,000 per year buying/selling/trading items in various games.
