One of the most fanticised technologies in all of travel is taking to the air with nothing more than a jet pack on your back!
Since the 1950s, modern man has dreamed about strapping on some type of rocket to his back and jetting off to work or play. This was supposed to be the future of travel. Back in 1953 when the first jet pack was built by Bell Labs Aerospace, every ten-year old kid dreamed of the not-too-distant future, say… 1999 or “the year 2000″ when such an invention would be a simple household appliance. Just like flying cars, for example.
Jet packs havent exactly become a reality for the masses but two companies are now trying to live up to the failed promises of science by making jet packs available to the public.
Tecnologia Aeroespacial Mexicana, for example, is selling a $250,000 jet pack that runs on hydrogen peroxide and keeps its wearer aloft for a whopping 30 seconds. Jetpack International offers a cheaper version for $155,000 that provides three more seconds of lift. (Thats a bargain price of about $5,000 per second of flight).
Here’s the interesting news though. Both companies are promising advanced models within the year that are powered by either propane or actual jet fuel. The lift time with these more combustible fuels is expected to be 19 minutes. (I could fly to work!)
Now you really can have the world in the palm of your hand (that was corny). Google just created a google earth app for the iPhone and iPod touch. Now you can fly over some of your favorite vacation destinations like TJ, Antartica, Afganistan… just to name a few. The new app has global imagery and 3D terrain. You can even browse any of the 8 million Panoramic photos or read Wikipedia articles. One of the coolest features is that it utilizes the iPhone’s accelerometer, allowing you to tilt your phone to adjust the view…

According to Forbes.com Bill Gates is no longer the richest man in the world (after being on top for 13 years). That honor now belongs to his friend Warren Buffett who can attribute his recent surge of Berkshire Hathaway stock to an increase of $10,000,000,000 in the last year! Warren BUffett now has an estimated fortune of $62 billion.
Meanwhie Bill Gates fortune only increased $2 Billion from one year ago so he is now worth $58 billion and is ranked third richest in the world. Bill Gates would have been as rich–or richer–than Buffett had Microsoft not made an unsolicited bid for Yahoo! in Febuary. Mexican telecom mogul Carlos Slim Helú has also surpassed Bill Gates fortune. Carlos is now ranked as the world’s second richest person with a net worth of $60 billion.
Here is a list of the top 25 richest people in the world. Each person is listed by Rank followed by their name, citizenship, age, net worth in billions (thats 9 zeros!) and country of residence:
1 Warren Buffett United States 77 62.0 United States
2 Carlos Slim Helu & family Mexico 68 60.0 Mexico Read more…
Just when you think you understand how physics and chemisty works someone goes and does something like this:
In an recent (accidental) discovery, an inventor was able to actually set saltwater on fire by exposing it to electromagnetic rays! Yup… they set water on fire! In fact, it is now believed that some day in the not so distant future the burning of water might become an alternative source of energy.
It all happened less than a few months ago when John Kanzius, a Washington County native, was attempting to desalinate ocean water with a generator he developed to treat cancer. During his experiment he noticed an unexpected flash in the test tube. Within a few short days John had reproduced this unexpected result and had the saltwater (which was exposed to radio frequencies) in a test tube burning like a candle. This recent, ground breaking discovery has sparked scientific interest and there is hope that someday the world’s most abundant substance (saltwater) might be able to function as a clean fuel (among other things).
The basic idea behind this new discovery is that the precise radio frequency weakens the bonds holding that hold together the constituents of salt water (sodium chloride, hydrogen and oxygen) and releases the hydrogen witch is then flamable and once ignited can burn continuously while exposed to the RF energy field. The flame’s temperature burns at an amazing 3,000+ degrees Fahrenheit and generates a tremendious amount of energy. Still it is not known if the energy output from the burning hydrogen is Read more…
Flash website templates can help to give you a professional looking flash websites for a fraction of what it would cost to design a flash website from scratch. Although flash website templates often require a lot of additional coding and tweeking they can save you money by giving you a base to work off of. Instead of spending 100+ hours to make a fully custom flash website from scratch, you can tweek a flash website template within about 10 or 20 hours (depending on your flash skills and what needs to be changed). Bugatti will soon be releasing a “Bugatti Veyron roadster”. Besides the new roof design, not much will change with the Bugatti roadster. You will still be able to cruise down the Pacific Coast highway at 252 mph… but now you can work on your tan at the same time! The design of the roof is not yet finalized and it is unsure if it will feature a glass targa type roof or a removable hardtop. The Bugatti roadster will still be powered by a quad turbo W16 engine that makes 1,000 horsepower (basically 2 twin turbo V8 engines smashed together) and it will most likely be otherwise identical to the 2008 Bugatti Veyron with all the same specs. And yes it will still cost $1,000,000+ dollars.
So start saving… the Bugatti Veyron roadster will be released in Read more…

I was searching for a good digital camera today and came across the Pentax Optio T10. From all the research I have done the Optio T10 is the best of the best in terms of simple point and shoot digital cameras. It is slim and stylish and easily fits into a purse or pocket.
My favorite feature is the T10′s large 3 inch LCD screen with touchscreen navigation. The impressive 3.0 inch LCD touch-display allows for intuitive and trouble-free touch panel operation. You can either use the incuded stylus or your finger for logical feature navigation via the capture and Playback mode palettes. You can even Decorate your images with the creative Drawing Function, Stamp Modes, Image cut-out and built-in Picture frames.
The camera also features 6.0 megapixels and a 3X zoom. If you want to shoot video the Optio T10 records movies at 640 x 480 (30 fps) with sound. The T10 also has 12MB built-in memory plus a SD/MMC card slot
For those of you interested in buying one an Optio T10 I have seen them for sale for between $280 and $350.
