Private jets now affordable

Author: PremiumPosts  //  Category: Uncategorized

Private jets have always been associated with the super rich high-filers with luxurious lifestyles. But now, they have become affordable. This has been possible due to the global recession and economic slowdown. Many millionaires are now ready to sell off their old jets to potential buyers. The price range can start from $22,000. Piper, Cessna, Bell, Beech, Robinson and Mooney can now be yours. The price may range from $22,000 to $300,000.

According to the aviation industry reports, there are around 7000 planes in the United States which are to be sold. 3000 more planes in Europe and Asia are also looking for new buyers who are few.

Executive jets, turboprop planes, piston aircrafts, helicopters and other small planes are up for sale. These aircrafts include brands like McDonnell Douglas, Gulfstream, Cessna, etc. The number of advertisements regarding sale of these planes is on the rise in newspapers and also online.  Advertisements for sale of spare parts of dismantled planes are also on the rise.  If the aircrafts do not get sold, they finally might be sold as scrap.

Big companies like Bank of America, Citigroup and Starbucks want to sell off their jets and reduce their running costs in turn. The slowdown has had a very bad effect on them. According to a report, one out of five private jets is for sale. The prices are also coming down day by day.

This whole thing also has a down side. The cost of repairs of the jets to get them flying is sometimes so large that it exceeds its cost price. Due to this factor, lesser people are buying these second hand machines.  Many websites related to sale and purchase of jets reported fewer buyers and diminishing enquiries for the planes.

The point to ponder upon is whether to buy these fancy machines when even the super rich want to sell them?  If they cannot afford them, we wonder who will!

Private Jet Packs

Author: PremiumPosts  //  Category: Uncategorized

One of the most fanticised technologies in all of travel is taking to the air with nothing more than a jet pack on your back!

Since the 1950s, modern man has dreamed about strapping on some type of rocket to his back and jetting off to work or play. This was supposed to be the future of travel. Back in 1953 when the first jet pack was built by Bell Labs Aerospace, every ten-year old kid dreamed of the not-too-distant future, say… 1999 or “the year 2000″ when such an invention would be a simple household appliance. Just like flying cars, for example.

Jet packs havent exactly become a reality for the masses but two companies are now trying to live up to the failed promises of science by making jet packs available to the public.

Tecnologia Aeroespacial Mexicana, for example, is selling a $250,000 jet pack that runs on hydrogen peroxide and keeps its wearer aloft for a whopping 30 seconds. Jetpack International offers a cheaper version for $155,000 that provides three more seconds of lift. (Thats a bargain price of about $5,000 per second of flight). :)

Here’s the interesting news though. Both companies are promising advanced models within the year that are powered by either propane or actual jet fuel. The lift time with these more combustible fuels is expected to be 19 minutes. (I could fly to work!)

list of the richest people in the world

Author: Julien  //  Category: Uncategorized

According to Forbes.com Bill Gates is no longer the richest man in the world (after being on top for 13 years). That honor now belongs to his friend Warren Buffett who can attribute his recent surge of Berkshire Hathaway stock to an increase of $10,000,000,000 in the last year! Warren BUffett now has an estimated fortune of $62 billion.

Meanwhie Bill Gates fortune only increased $2 Billion from one year ago so he is now worth $58 billion and is ranked third richest in the world. Bill Gates would have been as rich–or richer–than Buffett had Microsoft not made an unsolicited bid for Yahoo! in Febuary. Mexican telecom mogul Carlos Slim Helú has also surpassed Bill Gates fortune. Carlos is now ranked as the world’s second richest person with a net worth of $60 billion.

Here is a list of the top 25 richest people in the world. Each person is listed by Rank followed by their name, citizenship, age, net worth in billions (thats 9 zeros!) and country of residence:

1 Warren Buffett United States 77 62.0 United States
2 Carlos Slim Helu & family Mexico 68 60.0 Mexico Read more…

Best hosting provider

Author: Julien  //  Category: Premium Advice, Premium resources

I have been shopping for a new hosting provider and after comparing all the different companies out there I decided to go with Host Gator. They have tons of hosting services, awesome hosting prices and most importantly they are a dependable hosting company. I recently signed up with a no-name hosting provider because of the awesome hosting prices and impressive list of benefits but within the past couple weeks my site has gone down at least 4 times a week and now I am not getting any response from tech support. If I can offer one word of advice it would be to stick with a larger (reputable) hosting company.

If you are shopping for a hosting provider check out Host Gator:

Google has invented a time machine! Great Scott!

Author: Julien  //  Category: Premium Advice, Premium Gadgets and Cool Toys

I have always loved Google for their great products like, Picasa, Google docs and Gmail. However, this time they have really outdone themselves. Just when I thought they couldn?t get any better they go off and invent a time machine! Apparently you can now send emails into the past. Simply create your email, enter in your desired delivery date and BAM it disappears into the space/time continuum! Great Scott! :)

It?s called “Gmail Custom Time” but I prefer to call it “The Google Machine.” Don?t ask me how they do it, and don’t ask Google either. All you need to know is that it “utilizes an e-flux capacitor to resolve issues of causality (see Grandfather Paradox).”

At this point you probably this is too good to be true. Besides, everyone knows that you would need to have a 1980?s Delorean that is capable of hitting speeds of 88MPH in order to go back in time (not to mention the flux capacitor and 1.21 Gigawatt).

Well, this aint no joke Marty! Google is now allowing Gmail users to send a maximum of 10 emails per year into the past. Did you miss an important deadline (perhaps your anniversary)? Were you supposed to email your report by 6pm but ended up being too hung over to get out of bed before noon? Well, now you can fix all that! No need to be on time or honest any more! Simply enter the date you want your email to show up in the recipient?s inbox, select whether you want it to show up as ?read? or ?unread? and Google will take care of the rest!

Don?t believe me, check it out for yourself: http://mail.google.com/mail/help/customtime/index.html

P.S. If you still confused than you dont know what day it is yet!

Paperless books: The Amazon Kindle

Author: Julien  //  Category: Premium Gadgets and Cool Toys

Thinner and lighter than a typical paperback the new Amazon Kindle is a groundbreaking new reading device that allows you to store and read all your books and newspapers on one device. The Kidle only weighs 10.3 ounces and uses a revolutionary electronic-paper display which provides a sharp, high-res screen that has the look of real paper.

Amazon Kindle

The kidle doesnt sync to your computer and it has no cables. Instead, it wirelessly connects to Amazon (using EVDO technology like cell phones) to allow you to shop the Kindle Store and dowload books, newspapers, magazines… There are almost 100,000 books available (for a price of $9.99) as well as many top U.S. newspapers including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post; top magazines including TIME, Atlantic Monthly, and Forbes?all auto-delivered wirelessly (in less than a minute, no matter where you are)! In addition you can surf many of the most popular blogs including:
BoingBoing, Slashdot, TechCrunch, ESPN’s Bill Simmons, The Onion, Michelle Malkin, and The Huffington Post…

The Kindle can hold over 200 books, has a battery life of about 2 to 8 days (depending on wireless usage) and best of all, you do not have to pay any monthly service fees to connect online.

At $399 the Amazon Kindle is still a bit too expensive for most people (as most new technologys are) but hopefully this will help lead to an economy that doesn’t rely as heavily on paper!
