Wow… what a deal! NOT

This isn’t exactly a “premium post” but I suppose you could say it fits into the “premium comedy” section! (BTW if you don’t think this is funny I would suggest that you’re a huge nerd. No offense)!
So… I was looking for a computer on Craigslist today and I came across an amazing post. Apparently you can buy and sell video game characters. Someone is offering to sell his character from the “World of Warcraft” game for $400. Mind you this is not a video game for sale but rather a character that someone has created. He is selling “a Level 70 Human Rogue on the Alliance side of the PVP server Baelgun” (whatever that means)
More importantly it states that the character is transferable with 60 days of play time and the seller states that he expects to get multiple offers because this is a good deal. (Just a thought, but for $400 couldn’t you go to “Dave and Busters Restaurant” every weekend for 60 days and get an unlimited arcade game card, 5 or 6 beers, some food, a little bit of human interaction and the remote possibility of maybe even meeting (or at least talking to) a girl? Just a thought.

Anyway, it seems to me that for $400 your average gamer would probably buy an XBox 360 or a PS3. What I want to know is, who is spending $400 on a video game character (and please don?t tell me that it?s because the character has high ratings, lots of power or even super awesome looks)? Seriously I need help understanding this!

Side note: If this is for real I might consider getting into the videogame nerd business. Can anyone advise we on weather or not this is as good a deal as the seller states? If so I might have to post this incredible investment opportunity to the “premium investments” section of my blog.

For me, I would have to say it was the “Heavenly Inspiration” that really blew me away!

I just wanted to share an awesome Google creation I just came accross… It’s Google 411 and it lets you call toll free from any phone to get local business listings. Previously I had been using traditional 411 or 1-800-SanDiego as a free 411 service but the new google 411 is 1000% better. Not only do you get your answers instantly with no advertisements, but it will also connect you for free (or even text message you the information for free)! Now you can find what you are looking for instantly! To try out Google’s new 411 service just dial 1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411) from any phone.

Here are some tips for using Google 411:
1) When you are asked for city and state, you can say city and state or you can simply say (or type) the zip code.
2) When you are asked the business name or category you can say the specific name or be general. EX: “hardware stores”
3) Say “details” to get more info about the current listing.
4) You can say “text message” or press “9″ to receive a text message with detailed info (when you are calling from a cell phone).
The text message feature came in very handy when I was on my way to a steakhouse in Downtown San Diego and didn’t know thier address. I simply said “92101 The strip club steakhouse” then “text message” and I was instanly sent a text with their phone number and address!
Anyway… Not much more to it! Its free, it’s easy and its way faster than looking something up on your phone when your not in front of a computer so give it a try!

If your 50cc pocket bike isn’t giving you that adrenaline rush you crave than consider this modest upgrade: It’s the MTT Turbine Super bike also know as the Y2K. Weighing in at about 500 lb, this jet powered motorcycle uses a Rolls Royce Allison gas turbine engine to create over 320HP and 425 ft. lb. of torque, making it the most powerful (and most expensive) production motorcycle ever! The Y2K superbike may not be practical and I can only imagine that this jet powered super bike has some handling issues, considering the fact that you are sitting on a jet engine that spins at 56,000rpm. But… Anyone who is going to spend $185,000 on a bike isn’t exactly looking for practicality. Jay Leno who was one of the first owners of a MTT jet powered superbike and in the video below you can hear the crazy sound this motorcycle makes and see it in action!

I just came across a really cool site that converts online videos (ex: youtube videos) into any format and lets you download them (for free)! You can even convert a video (ex: a music video) into MP3 format. All you need to do is provide the URL of the video and vixy.net’s FLV Online Converter will quickly convert your video and provide you with a link to download it!

This is especially cool if you have a smartphone or PDA. I converted a few videos to MP4 so I could watch them on my Blackberry Pearl and it worked perfectly. If your a fan of “The Office” you can convert the Prison Mike scene so you can watch it on your phone over and over and over… Anyway, check it out!

I took some shots of my friends Audi S4 earlier today and messed around with them on Photoshop. Just thought I would share a few of the pics.
For those of you who don’t know much about the Audi S4, it really is a fun car to drive! The B5 Audi S4 (which was built between 1997 and 2002) is an all wheel drive 2.7 liter twin Turbo V6 sedan that is capable of pushing 350hp (to the wheels) with just a few bolt-ons (intake, exhaust, ECU…). Even now, 10 years after the S4 was first introduced they are still coming out with upgraded turbo kits capable of pushing the S4 to 630 wheel horsepower! The S4 also handles very well and I have had the pleasure of driving one or two through the back roads! Needless to say, the S4 has developed a huge enthusiast community and it’s rare to see an S4 that isn’t modified in some way. It might not have the lines of a supercar but it’s a great choice for those looking for a practical and sophisticated sedan that has all the comforts of a luxury sedan plus the perform of a sportscar!

If you’re in the market for an all-in-one print, scan, copy and fax device the Canon PIXMA MP830 looks pretty sweet! I’ve been doing some research on all in one printers and in terms of price and performance the Pixma mp830 is my top pick. (detailed specs on the Pixma MP830 are below).

Perhaps best of all is the fact that the print cartridges are super inexpensive. One of my main criteria when looking for a printer is the cost of replacement ink cartridges. As we all know ink jet cartridges often cost between $30 and $50 dollars. The Canon MP830 has an individual cartridge for each color (which saves you money by not tossing out unused ink) and best of all you can find generic replacement ink cartridges for about $2 dollars each!

IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER: Always look to see that the printer you are going to buy has cheap ink cartridges available online. Some companies (Ex: Dell) do not have generic cartridges so you have no choice but to purchase the OEM product for $30+ dollars a cartridge…

Anyway, back to the The Canon Pixima 830. If you shop around you will see that it has a retail price of about $300 dollars but I did some digging and found them for $232.99 on buy.com with free shipping!

This is for all “The Office” fans out there!
I just realized I don’t talk nearly enough about the NBC show “The Office” and since it is probably my favorite show of all time I figured it was time to start mentioning it! I am not much of a TV watcher but this is the one show that I have purchased every episode of, and I can watch it over and over again. It is also a show that I have come to quote in my daily conversations with friends (never quoted a TV show before).
Below is just one of many great images that I captured of Michael Scott as he “scares everyone straight” with his Prison Mike impression in “the Convict” episode. I was thinking of spending a bit more time on these and making higher resolution images available for download as desktop backgrounds if people are interested! Let me know what you think.

I also wanted to mention a great fan site for “The Office” for those of us who can’t get enough! Its LifeintheOffice.com and it is continually updated with current info on the show. It includes quotes, video and audio clips, show info, ringtones, interviews with the cast, a forum and an RSS feed… (which I subscribe to)!
